On Friday July 7th, the Trinbago Diaspora Outreach Network (TDON) hosted a free Medical Clinic at the Castara Primary School as part of our Homecoming 2023 activities. The clinic offered vision screening and hearing tests to the residents of Castara. The event was largely a success, with just over 30 people of all ages participating. The clinic was sponsored by Courts Optical led by Ms. Khadisha Loraine. There was also Ms. Bernadette Forbes, the principal of Castara Primary, who also helped to make this event possible by providing access to Castara Primary to host our testing faculties and equipment.
In attendance was also Dr. Jimmy Toussaint. The PRO of The Tobago Empowerment and Alliance Mission (TEAM). He’s also the president and founder of The Bayleaf at Bacolet. He also showed support for our activities. Ms. Qushiba La Fleur, Founder of We Care Support also provided support by doing hearing screening. We also received feedback from some residents of nearby villages. who also attended the event and express ed thankfulness and interest in seeing a continued return of our Medical Clinic Event especially for children. The Trinbago Diaspora Outreach Network (TDON) plans to hold a similar clinic next year as part of our annual Homecoming events, and we’re grateful for the support and opportunity to serve the community.
